This is one of my instant potato recipe made from just a few ingredients from your pantry.
This vegetarian recipe is is full of flavours and tastes heavenly mouth watering main dish can be savoured by everyone and can be relished on special occasions and I’m pretty sure this dish will woo your guests in a jiffy.
This flavourful delicacy can be relished in lunch or dinner with some garlic naan or roti . Simply exotic recipe for vegetarian folks !!
Ingredients for the recipe of malai aloo curry :
The ingredients are for making the recipe of malai aloo curry is available in our local grocery shop.
2-3 big size potatoes, peel the skin and cut into medium size.
1 big size onion, make a paste
1 teaspoon white sesame seeds
6-7 cashew nuts
1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
1 teaspoon ground black pepper powder
2 tablespoons ghee ( clarified butter)
Few cloves
Few cardamom
2-3 cinnamon sticks
2 bay leaves.
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Salt to taste
Method of cooking the recipe of malai aloo curry:
First peel the skin of potatoes and cut into medium size. Now parboil it and keep aside.
Make a paste of sesame seeds and cashew nuts with a 1/2 cup milk and keep aside .
Heat a tablespoon of ghee in skillet , and fry this parboiled potato with a little salt till you get light golden colour . Once done keep aside.
Now in a same skillet , heat a teaspoon of ghee over medium heat . Add bay leaves , cloves , cardamom and cinnamon sticks and let it splutter. Pour the onion paste and fry it for a minute or two , add ginger garlic paste and stir it continuously.
Add cashew paste onto it and fry in low flame . Season with salt , sugar and black pepper powder . Cook this mixture in low flame till oil floats on top of this mixture . Add 1/2 cup water and 1 cup milk , give it a nice stir and let it boil.
Once this creamy mixture started boiling , add fried parboiled potatoes and let it cook till the gravy becomes thick and oil floats on top. Remove from gas and add one more tablespoon of ghee on top of it and serve hot .
