Canopy with edible flowers

You might be surprised that some of the flowers in our garden can star in some of our favorite dishes, if you have never eaten or cooked with edible flowers. Calendula , Violets, Borage,  Nasturtiums, and Pansy flowers are just a few of the many floral edibles you can add to your meals. Edible flowers add beautiful color and floral flavors to both savory and sweet dishes. Flowers, like herbs, have been used in cooking for centuries. Ofcourse not all flowers are edible, but the ones that are lend the adventurous cook a lovely myriad of dishes to brighten up the family meals. And regardless of the flowers you choose, make sure they are free of pesticides and other chemicals (organic flowers are best). Pansies, violets, roses, in fact all edible flowers may be candied also to preserve for a later uses.

My favorite edible flower is  Pansies  because I just love how they look like little, happy, smiling faces, pretty with so many colourful combinations and cheerful that you can't help but smile when you see them . Pansies are healthy for you too, contains Vitamin C and Vitamin A. Pansies make beautiful, colourful, magical garnishes for vegetable dishes, egg dishes, salads, sandwiches, beverages, and desserts. Because of the vibrant and varied colors of the little pansies, they can be matched to just about any tables cape you want to create for a summer luncheon party, an evening dinner party, a baby shower, kid's birthday party or a wedding reception. The fancy finger food served at high tea as they brought a touch of elegance and wealth to the table.
