Apple Kheer

"An Apple a day keeps a doctor away" , a very famous English saying is known to everyone. Apples are very good for one's health. One can eat an apple raw, cooked, or baked, and it can be used in various dishes, such as apple sauce, apple compote, apple pie, apple strudel, apple cake, apple salad, etc. Apple in particular be known as the king of all fruits. An apple is beautiful , tasty and has a fine fragrance. This fruit has many virtues.







Today, I would like to share one of my apple dessert,  Apple Kheer -a delicious dessert of grated apple cooked with milk. To avoid curdling due to apple's sourness, you have to choose apple which is very sweet in taste. I did mistake in choosing apple, when I cooked for the first time. It takes 2 to 3 hours to make this apple kheer, but it's worth it. It's a yummy dessert for everyone.This is a super food for babies too.





Ingredients:    
                                                                                                                                                                   2 litres milk,                                                                                                                                           1 1/2 tin sweet condensed milk.                                                                                                                   3 Apples,                                                                                                                                                  1 teaspoon cinnamon powder    
                                                                                                              
 Method:

Bring milk to boil in medium heat, and after half an hour add condensed milk, continuously stir it. Reduce the flame to low from medium.

Now peel the  apples and grate it. Add this grated apple into milk and again stir it continuously. Cook until apple cook properly and consistency becomes thicken. Sprinkle cinnamon powder on top.

You can add chopped almond and pistachio on top , if desired. Keep in refrigerator before you serve.




Note: Choose sweet apples n always grate apples at the time of cooking to prevent brown.
