Meatballs in orange sauce

Meatballs, one can serve as main dish or an appetizer. Needless to say that most of the people like meatballs. A meatball is  made up of ground or minced meat rolled into a small ball along with other ingredients, like with bread crumbs, eggs, onion, chilies, butter and other seasoning. Meatballs are cooked by frying, baking, steaming, or braising in different sauce,  and there are many types of meatballs using different types of meats and spices. Meatless versions are based on vegetables or fish.



Try this meatballs with orange, this recipe can be served as an appetizer with toothpick skewers and best part of it that is easy to make besides delicious. ithin half an hour you'll get scrumptious meatballs in orange sauce ready for dinner or as an appetizer for a party. Sweet, tangy and a little spicy, the perfect combination of flavors.



Serve over rice or noodles for dinner or with toothpicks as finger food in party.    

Ingredients:

2 pk chicken sausage
2 eggs , whisked
1 teaspoon ginger, minced
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
 1 teaspoon red pepper sauce
1/2 cup cornstartch
1 cup orange juice (tetra pk or fresh)
3 tablespoons brown sugar if using fresh orange  juice
3 tablespoons olive oil
Salt to taste

 Garnish: 

1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 green onion , chopped

Method:

In a  bowl, combine the sausage, whisked eggs, cornstartch. Roll the sausage mixture into 25 golf size meatballs.



In a medium size bowl, combine the orange juice , soy sauce, red pepper sauce, garlic, ginger and brown sugar if using fresh orange juice, salt and mix well. You can add 1 teaspoon lemon juice for extra tangy taste                
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat,and add sausage meatballs and sear the meatballs on all sides. Pour orange sauce over the meatballs, reduce heat to low and cook for few minutes until sauce become thick.

Garnish meatballs with green onions and sesame seeds.
