Bottle gourd pudding or lauki kheer is delicious and creamy sweet pudding made from grated bottle gourd and milk. As we all know bottle gourd famed to be low calorie veggie, goodness of milk and bottle gourd makes the lauki kheer as heart friendly and super tasty. Everone like to dig into kheer, the all time favourite Indian dessert. You can try this kheer with a difference, when you don't want to eat regular rice kheer.
A healthy way to satisfy your sweet tooth occasionally. Serve this dessert when guests are at home or during special occasions. You can add cardamon, saffron or almonds, raisins, etc for your own taste.
Ingredients:
1 cup grated bottle gourd
1 litre milk
1/2 cup milk maid
2 tablespoons clarified butter ( ghee)
1 tablespoon almond, chopped
Method:
Boil milk on medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes. Now add milk maid and stirring continuously.
In another skillet, heat clarified butter ( ghee) and fry bottle gourd till tender. Add this cooked bottle gourd in milk mixture and cook until you get creamy texture.
Keep aside and cool in refrigerator for atleast an hour and serve chilled.
