Prawns with Ginger leaves Curry

Prawns can be cooked in different ways, which takes you from starters through to mains. Dinner is a breeze with this speedy ginger prawn. My grandmother used to grow ginger and turmeric in backyard, she never threw away leaves of these plants, infact she used in cooking to make delicious aromatic dish, specially with fish.  Traditionally fish cook with ginger leaves is flavorful . Today, I plucked few leaves of ginger from backyard to cook with prawns.

This simple version of prawn cooking with leaves of ginger will warm you up this winter. Juicy prawns pop with flavor in this rich curry. Aroma of fresh leaves enhance tastes of  juicy prawns that will make your meal out of this world. 







INGREDIENTS:

500 gram Prawns, peeled and cleaned it

2 onions, 

3 cloves of garlic

1 teaspoon red chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin powder

1/2 cup cream

Few Ginger leaves

Salt to taste

2 tablespoons oil

METHOD:

Heat a skillet, add 1 tablespoon oil and fry prawns for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove it and keep aside.

Make a paste of onions and garlic in grinder. 

Now in the same skillet, add another tablespoon oil and pour onion garlic paste. Stir it well. After a minute when you get onion paste becomes brown in colour, add red chili powder, cumin powder, salt to taste. Stir it continuously. Now add 1/2 cup hot water and leaves. Stir it again. 

Add prawns in this gravy. Cover it and cook in simmer till you get aroma of ginger leaves. Before remove from heat pour cream and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes. 



Serve hot rice or noodles !!
