Kala bhuna mutton

This kala bhuna mutton recipe is an iconic mutton delicacy and every  meat lover will definitely love it. This slow cooking mutton is black in color which melt in mouth. 



Today I' m gonna share with you an easy and delicious mutton which is prepared with just few ingredients. You don't need to add tomatoes or lots of spices in this recipe. In this mutton dish , I have  added potatoes which every Assamese do in meat curry. Its completely  optional .




The slow cooking method of the recipe helps to get the dark color, as much as time you will give in cooking , the color get more darker, you will get from the combination of spices and mutton pieces, if you make it once, you will cook it again and again. I have learnt this recipe from one of my best friend who is an excellent cook. I’m pretty sure you will fall in love with this recipe .





You can enjoy this with parantha , naan or tandoori roti .


Ingredients:

2 kgs mutton , medium sizes
9-10 large onions , chopped 
2 cups curd
3-4 potatoes, cut into two big pieces ( optional ) 
1 tablespoons Ginger paste 
1 1/2 tablespoons Garlic paste 
1 tablespoons black pepper powder
Salt to taste 
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 
2 teaspoons garam masala powder 
2-3 tablespoons Mustard oil for cooking 

Method : 

Marinate mutton with curd, salt and turmeric and keep in fridge for 4-5 hours. 

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium flame. Add chopped onions and fry till it caramelised .

 Now add ginger garlic paste , and fry for another few minutes. Add marinated mutton into it and stir it continuously. Add potatoes , black pepper powder and garam masala powder . Combine it well . Cover it and cook in low flame . Keep stirring it after every interval of 7-8 minutes . 

Cook in low flame , until mutton pieces becomes tender and turn into black colour . The combination of mutton and onion release oil , so you don’t need to add water .
