Recipe of Pudina / Mint chicken

Pudina chicken or mint chicken recipe is quite simple as not much browning is not required.






During summers , this recipe is preferred as it is light and gets cooling effects on  the stomach. The recipe requires very simple ingredients, just you can add pudina / mint to your menu without much pre-planning . 





The taste of mint itself upholds the gravy . This vibrant green , creamy gravy that you gets from curd / dahi is delicious when you pair it up with roti or steamed rice . The marinade of this recipe is overloaded with flavor and aroma . It can be serve as a great starter / appetiser for party when you keep it dry. 



This green chicken is absolutely delicious dish you can devour it anytime. 





Ingredients: 

500 grams chicken with bone / boneless 
1 cup curd / dahi 
1 bunch pudina / mint
2 big size onions, finely chopped 
1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
2 green chilies 
1 teaspoon cumin powder 
1 teaspoon black pepper powder 
2 small cinnamon sticks 
2-3 cloves
3-4 cardamom 
Salt to taste 
Mustard oil for cooking . 

Method : 

First wash the chicken pieces properly. 

Make a paste of pudina/ mint and green chillies  in a blender and keep aside. 

Now marinate  the chicken with curd , pudina paste , ginger garlic paste , salt , pepper and cumin powder and keep it for an hour or two . 

Heat oil in a skillet over medium flame , add cinnamon sticks, cloves  and cardamom, let it splutter . Now add chopped onions , fry it till you get brown colour,  now add marinated chicken and stir it well . 

Cover it and cook in simmer . Adjust salt and pepper again according to taste and add sugar . Keep stirring it sometimes , so that spice doesn’t stick in skillet . 

Cook till chicken is tender and oil started floating on top of it.

Serve hot !!
